NH Driving Scenarios
Test your judgment in real-world situations
🚗 How It Works
You'll face realistic driving situations that require good judgment. Read each scenario carefully, think through your options, and choose the safest response. You'll get instant feedback explaining why each choice matters.
💡 Tips for Better Judgment
- Think Safety First: The safest choice is almost always the correct one
- Consider NH Laws: Many scenarios involve specific NH regulations
- Read Carefully: Small details matter - weather, time of day, location
- Think Consequences: What could happen with each choice?
- Learn from Feedback: Explanations teach you why, not just what
Master Real-World Driving Decisions
Knowing the rules is important – but knowing how to apply them in real situations is what makes a safe driver. Our NH Driving Scenarios system gives you hands-on practice making the judgment calls you’ll face every day on New Hampshire roads.
Why Scenario-Based Learning Matters
Book Knowledge vs. Real-World Skill:
- Textbook: “Slow down in bad weather”
- Real Scenario: “It’s snowing heavily and visibility is 50 feet on I-93. Your speed is 65 mph. What should you do?”
The DMV test checks your knowledge. Our scenarios check your judgment.
Real driving requires split-second decisions based on complex situations. Our scenarios train you to:
- Assess hazards quickly
- Choose the safest option
- Understand consequences
- Build confidence
- Develop good instincts
How the Scenarios Work
Simple 4-Step Process:
- Read the Scenario – A realistic driving situation is described in detail
- Consider Your Options – Four possible responses (A, B, C, D)
- Make Your Decision – Choose what you would actually do
- Learn from Feedback – See if you were correct and understand why
Each scenario includes detailed explanations of what happens with each choice, helping you understand not just what to do, but why it’s the safest option.
Get the Most from Each Scenario:
- Read carefully – details matter!
- Think about what you’d ACTUALLY do
- Don’t rush – real driving isn’t timed
- Learn from wrong answers (they teach the most!)
- Visualize yourself in the situation
- Ask “What could go wrong?” for each option
About Our Scenario System
Our NH Driving Scenarios were developed by certified driving instructors with decades of experience on New Hampshire roads. Each scenario reflects real situations our instructors have encountered or taught students to handle. We’ve included NH-specific challenges like moose crossings, frost heaves, and covered bridges because these are unique hazards you won’t find in driver’s ed programs from other states.
The system has helped thousands of NH students develop the judgment needed for safe driving!
